Redefining Artificial Intelligence: AuraChat and Our Commitment to Ethical AI

AuraChatAi

The recent hack that occurred on February 24 during the Ley Olimpia event has highlighted an urgent issue: the vulnerability of digital spaces and the need for artificial intelligence (AI) that protects, rather than perpetuates inequalities. At AuraChat, we believe that AI must be transparent, equitable, and inclusive, and we are committed to leading this change with responsible technology.

The Patriarchal Algorithm: An Incontestable Reality

According to UNESCO data (2023), only 6% of software developers and 12% of AI researchers are women. This representation gap has resulted in 44% of AI systems displaying gender biases, perpetuating stereotypes and inequalities in algorithms that influence our daily lives.

Examples of these biases range from virtual assistants programmed to be submissive and compliant, to facial recognition algorithms that fail to identify female faces with the same accuracy as male ones. Beyond the lack of representation, AI has also been used in highly controversial ways, such as the creation of hypersexualized robots or the spread of violent digital content targeting activist women.

AI as a Tool of Digital Violence

During the First Latin American Summit of Digital Defenders, a cyberattack interrupted the event’s broadcast with the intent to silence women's digital activism. The projection of pornographic content in a space dedicated to the fight for digital rights showed how technology continues to be used as a weapon of gender violence.

The response from digital defenders was clear: "We will not back down in our fight to ensure a safe digital environment." The Secretariat for Women and UN Women Mexico also condemned the attack, emphasizing the need for major tech companies to take responsibility for preventing such violence.

AuraChat: AI with Transparency, Equity, and Inclusion

At AuraChat, we are redefining AI with an ethical approach, ensuring that our systems are free from biases and actively promote inclusion. We believe that AI should not only be a tool for innovation but also a driver of social change that ensures safer and more equitable digital spaces.

Our commitment includes:

  • Responsible AI development: We design algorithms that avoid replicating gender stereotypes and prejudices.

  • Inclusion in development: We promote the participation of women in technology, fostering leadership and decision-making spaces.

  • Digital security: We protect our users with technologies that prevent cyberbullying and the spread of non-consensual content.
